Successful surgery!

Luke FINALLY got his tubes today! The same tubes he was supposed to have gotten 3 weeks ago, until the day before he was diagnosed with RSV, then a week later it turned to pneumonia. Finally, after 3 weeks he was cleared for tubes!!! He was such a trooper. Mama....not so much! I did NOT like them taking my baby away from me! Anyway, he did GREAT! The nurse holding him when we got to the recovery room didn't want to give him to us- she said he was the "sweetest baby ever!" They couldn't believe he was SMILING ..... we can, though! We have the happiest baby and I am so thankful! : )

We started the day off with birthday lunch at Logan's Roadhouse!!

She had to stand up in the chair for them to announce her birthday... Everyone in the restaurant had to yell a big "yeehaw". I think she was a little embarrassed :)

After Logan's she had some birthday money that was burning a whole in her pocket.... sooo we went to Old Navy, Claire's and Belk (mainly b/c she wanted to ride the escalator.... but she did find a pair of earrings!)

After shopping till we dropped, we stopped to get some pizza, came home to eat and play the wii!

What's a birthday without cake?! Ashlyn and I made a funfetti cake- it already came with sprinkles but she had to add more....a LOT more.... She told me that it was so much fun making a cake together and told me she wanted to come live with me.. Wow! Who knew a cake could do that?! ; )

Fot those of you (ahem...MOM) that harrass me for being a packrat sometimes... Well it paid off b/c I found these birthday plates in the cabinet leftover!

The Upchurch family had a great day celebrating!! Both kids are sound asleep in their beds, Kyle and I found a Netflix movie to watch then it's bedtime and church tomorrow!

Happy Friday the 13th!!!

Friday the 13th is a lucky day at the Upchurch house- that's the day Luke made his surprise arrival!! He is 8 months old today.. Can't believe how fast it's going.. AND how much fun it is! One thing I've learned recently-- Luke does NOT sit still for pictures anymore... at all! So here's the best I could get:

I came across a pair of newborn pants that Luke wore when he first came home from the hospital- I remember how huge they were on him and now this is what they look like!

turning 8 months will really wear a guy out!

oh and Kyle randomly texted me today to tell me that I was going to get a treat for Mother's day this year. I asked him what he meant and he said "our baby turns 1 on mother's day!!"

This is going to be a very special Mother's day!!!!!
