Crazy World and a Crazy Kid

What a sad, sad world this has become. It's sad that we Christians get shut out and pushed to the side for our beliefs! Tim Tebow can't kneel and have "John 3:16" written on him, but a gay basketball player comes out of the closet and he's now a hero? really??!?!!?!  I am so thankful that Kyle and I have gotten more active in Pinelake church. It has strengthened our marriage more than we could ever imagine. When you put God first in your marriage everything else falls into place. Here is Wednesday night's sermon from one of the church's leaders...  http://pinelake.org/sermon/everyday-people-servants/  - We have got to pray this country and start serving so other's can see God in us! This is our temporary home...
I am so saddened and scared of the world Luke is going to grow up in.. not to mention this horrible economy. It's safe to say that Luke will not be a big brother b/c I cannot imagine bringing another child into this mess!

Another reason Luke will not be a big brother....... b/c I couldn't handle another ha... he wears this mama out!!!

This is what I found Luke doing when I told him it was time to get a bath!!

Crazy kid!!

He definitely keeps me on my toes All. The. Time! It's no wonder I don't have more gray hair than I already pull out....yes, sadly, I have pulled a couple recently : /
But on a happy note (and I'm reeeeeally afraid I'm going to jinx myself) he hasn't been sick in months- we haven't had to go to the doctor since December..,AND he eats like a pig- everything in sight- FINALLY!!!! The girls at the daycare have to give him seconds.... woohoo!! I knew if we could make it through the first year things would get better!!

Thank you, God, for you many blessings!

Luke's 1st Haircut (3/3/13)

Well, the time finally came.... my boy had to get a haircut. If I didn't hurry up and cut it his Papaw and daddy were threatening to do it themselves (and we all know how that would turn out!!) Poor kid was starting to look like a little girl : /  Although he looks so handsome and grown up, I almost cried as she cut his sweet curls off : ( Our Aunt Annie did my first haircut and now she's cutting Luke's.... Oh how time flies.  He wasn't quite sure about the whole hair cutting process, but as long as we were feeding him mini M&M's (his absolute favorite candy) he was cool with it all.  So here ya go... just a few of the 40 pics I took ; )

what is really going on?

"Go ahead... keep cutting... just keep handing me the M&M's and I'm good!"

Tah-dah!!! A cookie for being such a big boy!

Now he's ready for his sping pictures at school tomorrow!!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Oh my goodness I think this is the first time I've slowed down since the first of December. I love this time of year, but it's so crazy... a good crazy.... A crazy filled with lots of family, fun, parties and tons of food! It's a good thing "losing weight and eating healthy" isn't on my resolution list this year.  Actually, I don't have anything on my resolution list. I should really probably work on that. At least I did whip up some black eyed peas, cabbage and a big ol' ham today (that should count for something.)
Christmas was so.much.fun this year with Luke. He's finally getting to the "fun" age where he sorta kinda knew what was going on and could open presents. Of course, he's also to that age where he's totally not a fan of Santa.... at all.

Like the other years, we kept it low key on the gifts. But I think Luke and Ashlyn were both pretty happy with their presents.

Then there's New Year's Eve-- also our anniversary! This year for our 3rd anniversary we went to AJ's and enjoyed a delicious three course meal-- The filet topped with crab meat in a white wine sauce was ahhhmaaziing... and the chocolate cake was to.die.for... seriously!!! Like I said, it's a good thing I don't have any resolutions this year b/c I plan on going back for some more of that stuff!
check out this "Southern Belle Martini"

Happy New Year, y'all!!

Thirty Days of Thankfuls

I am most thankful for:

*God- for his forgivness and his unconditional love for me no matter how sinful I am.
*Kyle- for being my rock and my best friend! I am so proud of his hard work he has put into our marriage and into his jobs. I am so thankful that he (and I) chose to give love a second chance, for rebuilding what was taken from him in the past, for being an amazing daddy, for going to paramedic school and doing something he loves to do (It's also very handy to have a medic in the household!) I'm also so proud that he has just been promoted to Lieutenant at the fire dept!

*Luke- he has been the answer to my prayer. I'm so thankful that I waited until I was ready and was married to the person I was going to spend forever with to start my beautiful family. Kyle and I prayed for a baby and God answerd our prayers with Luke. That little boy keeps our life so fun- there is never a dull moment! He is our little spitfire and we are beyond blessed!
*Ashlyn- the best most beautiful bonus daughter I could have asked for!
*My roommates- aka my parents : ) For their love and support and especially for the roof over our heads right now! I'm thankful for them being the best role models to me!
*My in-laws- They have taken me in as their "daughter" and have always been there for us!
*My grandparents- My Nana (that I'm named after) and my Papa. I'm so happy they have gotten to watch their great grandchild grow these last 18 months!  Also thankful for my grandparents in heaven (Mamaw and Papaw) that I know are watching down on us.
*My job- I'm so lucky to work for such an awesome company for 7 years now!
*My dogs-Lucy of 9 years and Jackie of 8 years
*The tough times- financial struggles have brought me a lot closer to God (to pray without ceasing and to trust Him) and taught me that I can  make it with a lot less than what I have and to show me what's really important in life.
*Luke's daycare- A wonderful place for him to learn and grow....his favorite place to be!!!
*Luke's teachers- They love my little boy as if he was their own! When he walks right into his classroom everyday, waves bye-bye and blows me a kiss,  runs up to his teacher and gives her a hug I know that he's in the right place! Thank you, God,  for those wonderful girls in my boy's life!
*Pinelake- it may not be the church that we're members of... but it has become our church home! Where the sermons are so good that I never want them to end!!!!
*Fried food (well really any food)  -hey not everything in life is serious...no, actually food is very serious for me! I can get mean when it comes to food... just ask Kyle ; ) I love to eat!!!
*Double Stuf Oreos with milk (Have to have this every night before bed!)
*Crock Pots- I think we would probably starve without ours :)
*Music - such a stress reliever!
*Boots & skinny jeans
*Scrub pants - for those lazy days  : )
*Tailgaiting in the Grove with my hubby and friends and watching Ole Miss beat State!!!!!!! : )
*A Blondie from Cups!
*Mascato
*Brandon High School making it to state championship-- GO DAWGS!!!
*The 'I love you's'  from the hubby.
*Getting to celebrate Christmas at my parents home this year.... Brings back memories : )
*Kyle being off on New Year's Eve to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary!!!!
*Luke having Trey's name for his middle name.
*Lunch dates with Kyle
*My health
*& the sweet kisses from Kyle every night before bed!

Some are serious and some are just plain guilty pleasures in life, but
this list could go on and on....

I'm blessed beyond measure.
