Luke is 6 months old!!

I can't believe my baby is already 6 months old! Time needs to slow down just a little bit. I am so thankful to have such a healthy boy and watch him grow and learn something new almost everyday.. Right now he's really into his feet! He's still trying to figure out how to get them into his mouth (looks a little painful to me ha.) He loves eating all the solid foods now- and he loves everything except green beans (well, unless I add sweet potatoes to them.... then he likes them!)

he's getting so long!

he thinks he is so grown, too! I put him in his bouncy seat and he immediately sits right back up!

Happy six months, Luke!

Luke+First taste of green beans=Hilariously funny!!

Yeah, so green beans are definitely not as tasty as fruit. And yes, I know this b/c I tasted them! I always taste everything I feed Luke (weird, I know... but I want to know what he's tasting, too)... And I completely agree with all the faces he made and the gagging.. poor baby ha! But he still cleaned the bowl : )
"what tha...?"

"Mama, what is this stuff??"

Night #2 of green beans was not quite as bad... I added sweet potatoes to them ; )
He has discovered his tongue and that he can make "spitting type" noises while sticking it out of his mouth.... Well here's the result of doing that while eating!!

Luke's Baptism

On October 16th we celebrated the the baptism of Luke and Kyle and I joined the church!

We would like to let our friends and family know that we didn't want Ashlyn to feel left out during all of this. Since she already has a church that she's a member of we thought it would be easier for her if we did it seperate. She is VERY much a HUGE part of our life and we always include her in the things we do. When we were getting ready to welcome Luke into the world and get his new room ready, Ashlyn also got a new room with a new bed and new furniture. When she turned 6 she got a big surprise party and the other birthdays were celebrated at her choice of restaurant. These are just a couple of examples of how we always try to make her feel special and include her! We always try to be fair in everything we do and make the best decisions... Parenting isn't always easy!

I am so happy to finally be members of Crossgates United Methodist Church!!

the fair, cotton candy and grillin' out

......That's how we spent our Columbus day!! We took Luke for his first visit to the fair (ONLY b/c it was free to get in if you went before 1:00- that place is just ridiculously expensive)-and apparently everyone else decided to go, too. It was packed so we stayed just long enough to eat some good fair food- extra long pronto pup, chicken on a stick, fried snickers bar and cotton candy to go... I think I just gained 10lbs typing that!! Maybe next year we'll try the donut hamburger....NOT! That has to be one of the nastiest things ever- sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen! Anyway, it was a fun day followed by some good grillin' that night.. oh, and Luke's first taste (very small taste) of cotton candy : )

ready to go!!

hhahaha

for some reason I can't get the cotton candy pics to upload.... so stay tuned to another blog for those pics- they're too funny to miss!

Luke's 1st night in his crib

Luke did so good his first night in his crib! I know he's just a few days shy of being 5 months and he probably should have been in his crib a long time ago, but his daddy and I just weren't ready for this! Kyle and I just sat there in bed staring at the video monitor watching him sleep! Kyle said "It feels so empty without him in here with us". We put him down about 10:30 and he slept until 8:30!!! I'm loving that Luke likes to sleep late like me ; ) And he wakes up so happy (so not like me!!) He woke me up this morning by "talking" and cooing at the animals on his mobile - it was so sweet!

Luke's 3 months pics

And not just ANY three month pictures- some very special ones. Luke wore his Uncle Trey's Easter outfit. He looked so handsome wearing it- We know his Uncle Trey was smiling : )
We surprised my sweet mom-in-law with an album of all the pictures. She loved them so much she cried!  (Thank you, Ms Sheila, for letting Luke wear this outfit- It was a huge honor!)

just a few of the pics......
I love how he's holding his jacket like that. Kyle and Kris both said that Luke looks a lot like Trey in this picture : )

the biggest smile!!

a little note from Luke

There is just something about a cute lil' naked baby booty-- I just love those cute lil' "biscuits". It makes me want to pinch 'em-- they're so cute!! : ) I'm sure Luke is going to be embarrassed one day when I tell him about doing that but I'm the mama and I can do it!

So, anyway I came home today and Luke had a "happy" for me!

"Dear Mommy,
I got you these biscuits especially from me so you wouldn't have to gets mine alls the time.
Love,
Your favorite son
Luke

p.s.- mine are always here in case you ever run out"

Luke's first taste of fruit!

Luke's first time to eat applesauce with his cereal!!
yum yum
guess I wasn't fast enough- he was trying to eat his hands!
Lil' Chief is full and happy now
sweet baby boy

It's funny at the things that excite you when you're a mama! I already can't wait to try another food but we're going to stick to applesauce for at least a week (or the Dr said we could also use apple juice in the cereal).. Either way, things are starting to get FUN!!!

4 MONTHS!!!

Luke is 4 months today!!
I can't believe how much he has grown and how fast time has flown by. He is such a happy baby- always smiling, cooing, "talking", kicking his legs all over the place and very curious! He is 11 lbs 8oz now but since we're about to start some food he's going to fatten up hopefully! We've been on cereal from a spoon for about a week now and the Dr. said to feed it to him twice a day now instead of once and then add some fruit! I am so excited to see how he likes the fruit!

I can't wait to use this little gadget to feed him his food!

I've been waiting to pull all these goodies out!! I know it will be a while before he can use some of it but Luke is set!

Luke's cabinet!
oh and Dr. Cook hooked us up on some formula! It's like Christmas in our house!! : )
