you know the saying.....

that your parents always told you..... "This is gonna hurt me more than it hurts you"?? Well I understand it now! Luke had his first set of shots today. Although I know it really hurt him b/c I've never heard him cry that loud and have crocodile tears....  It sure hurt my feelings seeing my baby so upset. But within a few minutes of being in his mama and daddy's arms he was fine!  The doctor said he's perfect (of course he is! ) He's 7 weeks now and weighs 8lbs 7oz and is 21 1/2" long.

HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!!

We had a fun 4th of July weekend-- cooked out with family and friends and did some shopping!! Yes, I hate shopping but I can't help myself when it comes to buying things for Luke (yeah, I know... like he really needs anymore clothes.... but do any of  US really NEED new clothes either?!)  With that said--Mama got some new clothes today, too!!

Life's a beach...

A great family vacation to the beach is just what I needed!! It was so nice and relaxing!  Luke LOVED going down to the beach in the evenings after the sun went down. He loved the sound of the waves and the wind blowing.. he loved it so much that he slept 6 hours straight at night!! I think we need to move to the beach ; )

One month

Tissue, please! I can't believe our baby boy is already a month old today... seems like just yesterday we were at the hospital having him. He is the best baby ever and I have enjoyed this first month SO much and can't wait for many more to come!!

We had Ashlyn this weekend (the first weekend she's been to stay with us since Luke has been born) and let me tell you- she is an AWESOME big sister!! She talked to him (she kept saying "hey Luke I'm your big sister Ashlyn") and sang to him (Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Rock A Bye Baby).. I think he liked it b/c he smiled several times when she was singing to him! She was so funny b/c she would sing it the way Kyle used to sing it to her she said (instead of "like a diamond in the sky" he would say "like McDonalds in the sky"-- haha it was cute to hear her sing it!)
