One thing I have learned as a Mama... never make plans. Why? Because something is always going to come up... always. Like, for instance, we were supposed to take Luke to the Hayride/Tent or Treat Fall Fest at church Sunday evening. Well, Luke had some kind of craziness going on with his leg. when I say craziness... the poor kid couldn't even walk on his right leg. He kept falling down and limping. We noticed this on Saturday and he was still doing it Sunday. Sooo... when we realized it wasn't going to get any better Kyle decided we would head to Batson after we dropped Ashlyn off.
X-Rays came back that everything was fine- no broken bones or messed up hips. Kyle got to be the bad guy and hold him down for that : (
Next step- blood work. UGH... the dreaded blood work. Poor baby. That absolutely breaks my heart when they give him an I.V., so I sat in the hallway and cried while daddy had to be the bad guy again and hold him down : ( (but Daddy is much better at that since he deals with blood, needles and stuff everyday...stuff I can't handle!)
Blood work came back and his white blood count was very high which meant an infection somwhere .. They determined it's a viral infection and he has what's called Transient Synovitis (go figure... Only Luke would have something crazy like that!) And yeah, I had to google it ha. If you don't want to google it- it means that it's hip/joint inflammation and pain due to an infection in the body. It should heal on its own in a couple days (we hope!) Now we just wait and see if we can get the blood count down.
If there is something out there... Luke is going to have it ; ) This child keeps me on my toes. I sure hope this isn't any indication of terrible teenage years!!!
Btw- Blair E. Batson is a wonderful hospital for chidlren. The sweet nurses and doctors took great care of us and were all so nice!
Daddy made Luke a "ball" with a glove... The two of them played ball most of the afternoon-best entertainment!!
Such a trooper
So since we had to miss all the fun at the church fall fest, we are going to make Halloween extra special for my sweet baby boy! Maybe we can convince his Papaw to hook the trailor to the 4 wheeler and make him his own special hayride for Trick or Treating!
pleeeeease, Papaw?!?!
